I was able to make my way up Spiro at PCMR on Sunday and across to part of the Mid-Mountain trail towards Deer Valley. The ride made for the perfect jaunt, proving how great the mountain biking really is in Park City. Some facts about Spiro…
The name Spiro comes from Park City’s silver mining history. Today the Spiro tunnel may be more important than ever, as it is a major water reservoir for Park City’s water. The trail itself is a relatively new addition and has quickly become a favorite for bikers. The trail-head for Spiro is a few hundred yards north of the PCMR parking lot off Three Kings Drive.
More facts about Spiro: The Yeti had a run in with two horses that, instead of terminating Gulotta with extreme prejudice, merely kicked him in the spokes and let him pass unharmed (though severely traumatized). You had to be there.
