I always hear about these things a few days after they happen because we don’t have a television. Apparently, Bonds hit his record breaking home run the other day. It was a big feat and the first guy to shake his hand was my hometown hero and surrogate father when growing up, Willie Upshaw (the San Fran first base coach). Its sounds kinda cheesy to write about it, but it does sort of feels like I am somehow a part of this feat, being that Willie was there. Fairfield has drifted in and out of contact with most of its infamous characters that have walked its streets, but when amazing things happen, somehow, you sort of feel like you are apart of it. So, thanks Willie and congratulations Bonds.
