I had the pleasure of spending the entire week on a great island. Block Island is always compared to Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and the Hamptons because it basically lands geographically right in the middle of all of them. But it should actually never be compared to these places because its its own island. Rhode Island got lucky when the won the unremembered war of Block Island Sound against Connecticut. It was a well fought war in the early 17th century, that consisted of Native American vacationers in a blood bath against the Juneflower’s early settlers.
Block Island is its own entity and the Gulottas had the privledge of spending some quality island time with some great friends. In the end, there were punctured beer cans, lots of nude bathers, plenty of Bacci balls throw around, too much good food, an abundance of sand, yellow kittens, fresh fish, and plenty more things to be done on the island.
