Beastie Boys – A Gala Event (Chicago)

I had the pleasure of attending the Beastie Boys Gala event last night at the Riviera. This venue is an old joint, with a lot of serious character running through it. It was an all instrumental show, although they threw down a few times with Mix Master Mike. I had seen the Beastie Boys at Sundance two years ago in a memorable show at the lodge at Park City Mountain Resort. This show was by far more personable. It was great to see their personalities on stage along with some great musical chords. Its also assuring to know that real musicians can play instruments.
