Bri Gault and I were able to enjoy the mild fall temps and ride bikes from Bucktown Chicago, through downtown, to the edge of Grant Park. We went to the Field Museum, its between the aquarium and Soldier Field. The weekend before Justin and I had tried to make it to this exhibit and failed, due to unknown closing times. I find myself spending at least 20 minutes staring at maps when I get my hands on airline magazines. Sometimes, its hard to say what I am really studying, I just enjoy looking at the places in the world. That is why this exhibit was quite impressive. Maps, is a historical glimpse at the variety of maps that have been used throughout time. There were astrological maps, electronic maps, bamboo maps, subway maps, and carved maps. It was an exhibit with much depth. Like describing a story, people have always used their own perspective to get from one place to a specific destination. And you don’t really think about it, but we use maps almost every day for all landscapes. The day was an eventful one, an urban field trip.
